I have put together a playlist of some of the more gentle, beginner-friendly classes we have inside Studio BYS to get your first week checked off as stress-free as possible.

This is an all-levels gentle yoga class for those moments when stress and emotion overwhelm you. We'll do some gentle twists, hip openers, and forward folds to ground our minds while releasing tension from the body. We're moving with a "just the next right thing" mentality with no pushing or forcing. Just ease and relaxation.
For all the parents, students, or people working a little too hard, responsibilities mean you gotta figure out how to get it done despite being run down. This is a class to revive your mind and body with plenty of reminders that this is just one season that will pass.
Some days call for a nap but for whatever reason, that can't happen! How about a yoga class that energizes you like a nap would instead? ;) This class is the perfect blend of restful and invigorating. We stay focused on super gentle poses for the hips and spine, but spend the last few minutes of class in some more awakening ones to keep our minds awake and alert for the rest of our day.
We're flowing and moving but taking it slow and incorporating twists at every opportunity. It's a simple class with no curveballs, so prepare to move just enough to feel like you've done something while still having enough energy to meet the day head-on.
Today’s flow is all lying down and is very quiet and calming, finishing with a nice long meditation. It’s pretty much all of my favorite things in one single class.
My personal interpretation of this was a class focused on the muscles we use most when on a long trek. Throughout this flow, we'll find lots of wide stance variations of common poses and we'll lengthen the quads and hamstrings, all while keeping the natural, steady pace of a good long walk. Get ready to take in the "sights" today ;)
This class' mantra is "I am peaceful," and this flow will truly reinforce that. We'll start with a bit of relaxing breathwork and then add on some forward folds and easy-going twists.
